About Greers Ferry Lake
Greers Ferry Lake, in north-central Arkansas, was created in the early 1960s through the damming of the Little Red River. President Kennedy inaugurated the dam in a grand ceremony. This was his final public appearance before the tragic events in Dallas. Heber Springs honors President Kennedy with a park below the dam, an overlook above it, and a bust statue.
